Aqua Tofana

Perfume commercials are often advertised to women, showcasing them as elegant, powerful, and mysterious. As a fun spoof of that theme, I wished to make a perfume commercial for Aqua Tofana, a poison popularized in 1630.

The Aqua Tofana Commercial is a personal project in which I focused on Label Design, 3D product visualization, and post production in Davinci Resolve.
The final product
While creating this piece, I first designed the label and then began work on constructing a bottle that was both elegant, and modern in its construction. Delicate curves and slow pans around the contours give the bottle a sensual feeling. The clip ends with the bottle standing atop the rippling waters, stark against the smoky background.
Label & Concept Design
For the label design, I wanted to focus on luxury, as well as give the label a traditional feel. I began with hand lettering the Aqua Tofana title, and then began working on the shape I wanted for the label to rest on the bottle.
A tear drop shape that blends with the form of the bottle lends itself well to old perfume bottles, and the history of the poison itself.
